“My wife, Erin was diagnosed with Stage III Colon Cancer when she was just 37 years old. After surgery and chemotherapy treatment, the cancer came back 6 months later into her lymphatic system. She was diagnosed three more times with what was eventually Stage IV Cancer. As working parents of two small children, we found our lives in a downward spiral. Today, after numerous surgeries and treatments, she is cancer free and a proud survivor. This experience changed our lives forever and gave us both a whole new appreciation for life.” – Jason Hooten

ONE Flock is now partnered with the Colorectal Cancer Alliance to help battle this horrible disease. Every bottle purchased donates a portion of the proceeds to the alliance.  Many of  our wholesalers, restaurant and retail accounts are now joining us in the fight and are donating to the alliance for every bottle purchased.

The Colorectal Cancer Alliance provides genuine support for patients and families, caregivers, and survivors; to raise awareness of preventive measures, and inspire efforts to fund critical research.  For more information on the Colorectal Cancer Alliance, please visit their website at ccalliance.org or click on the link below.  You too, can join the fight by purchasing a bottle of ONE Flock at your favorite retailer, restaurant or by donating directly to the Colorectal Cancer Alliance.

The Blue Heron on the ONE FLOCK wine label was painted with water colors by Tim Mitchell,  a two time cancer survivor and good friend.

ONE was established in Napa, CA in 2012 by Jason Hooten. The Napa native’s past 22 years in the adult beverage industry has included brewing, winemaking, production, distillation, and sales and marketing.

The earlier vintages of ONE wines focused on single vineyard, sub-appellation, 100% varietal wines from Napa and Sonoma. The goal was to showcase 100% Cabernet each year that was grown in the different sub-appellations of the Napa Valley, making note of how different the wine can taste coming from another vineyard just a few miles down the road. “Wineries are always known for doing vertical tastings, we wanted to showcase a horizontal tasting from the same vintage. To take that to another step, we only used 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from the different sub-appellations to ensure the flavors were not influenced by other varietals of grapes, but rather the land itself.” This concept of winemaking became the wine label’s tagline: ONE GRAPE, ONE VINEYARD, ONE APPELLATION.

With the success of ONE, a second line of wines was created in 2016 that would be the complete opposite of ONE. ONE Flock, a California wine that showcases its flavors and nuances by sourcing a "flock" of grapes from multiple appellations in California; North Coast, Central Coast, and some Lodi. The Red Blend is made from Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah.

“When I decided to create a Red Blend, I wanted to make it an affordable, everyday wine under the ONE Flock label. Not only did I want it to be affordable, but I wanted it to be consistent from vintage to vintage. Additionally, I wanted it to be a Zinfandel-based blend, inspired by my childhood friend’s grandfather, who’s small property and vineyard in St. Helena I played on as a kid growing up.”  - Jason Hooten

All ONE and ONE Flock wines are produced and bottled in Napa, CA with the help of Winemaker, Michael Quinn. There is no tasting room, but the wines can be purchased online or at retailers and restaurants in select states, Canada, and Denmark.

ONE FLOCK wines have been named BEST BUY by Wine Enthusiast, given 91+ points on all varietals including 95 points on the 2020 ONE Flock Red Wine, received numerous medals from international wine competitions,  featured in Napa Valley Life Magazine, and was awarded "Editors Pick - Best Value Wine of 2022" by Bonfort's Wine & Spirits Journal.
